Patchwork Farm offers riding lessons for children and adults at all skill levels on our quality lesson horses and ponies.
Yes, we take beginners. We enjoy starting riders
off right!
Please see below for details. Also feel free to contact one of our instructors for more information

The Program:
All students are grounded in basic dressage or flat work (walk,
trot, canter) with the goal of learning to jump. Safety is a major
consideration at Patchwork Farm. Students are required to have their
own appropriately fitted, approved riding helmet and boots. We’ll
be happy to recommend several tack shops.
Riders who do not own their own horse are mounted on experienced,
proven school horses, several of whom are gently retired show horses.
Our school program is geared toward the beginner or novice rider.
We offer intensive summer riding camps for the horse-crazed. The
farm hosts some “in-house” shows so that
school students can get a taste of showing. To continue to progress,
Patchwork Farm riders may eventually lease or purchase their own
pony or horse.

The Benefits:
We believe that riding provides a unique opportunity for children
to learn about responsibility, self reliance, compassion and goal
setting. It has been our experience that our top riders are also
the best achievers in school. Several of our students have received
riding and academic scholarships to major universities.
The bonds formed at the barn are a powerful deterrent to the bad
choices that many children make. Frankly, our riders are devoted
and very busy at Patchwork Farm. Riding is a long term endeavor.
We love being a part of our riders’ lives and appreciate the
support and loyalty or our families. Come be a part of it!
